Guus Hiddink welcomes FA Cup quarter-final tie with Everton

Guus Hiddink wants to create more happy memories when Chelsea face off against Everton in the FA Cup next month, but is wary of a Toffees side seeking revenge.

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has admitted that he is hoping for more happy memories when his side face Everton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The tie is arguably the pick of the sixth-round fixtures, in what is a repeat of the 2009 final at Wembley Stadium.

Hiddink guided Chelsea to a 2-1 victory on that occasion during his first caretaker spell in charge of the West London outfit, with goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard cancelling out Louis Saha's early opener.

Speaking shortly after the draw was made on Sunday evening, the Dutchman told reporters: "[That final] was a long time ago. I have good memories but that's the past. They will remember that as well. Some might still be in the team so they'll go for revenge.

"We had a difficult game against them here recently. We hope to maintain our flow in The FA Cup when we play them there."

Chelsea made light work of Manchester City to advance through to the last eight, earning a 5-1 win on home soil to keep up their recent upturn in form under Hiddink.
