FIFA president Sepp Blatter condemns 'shocking' racist incidents

FIFA president Sepp Blatter reiterates that there is absolutely no place for racism in football while reacting to incidents involving Chelsea fans and Arrigo Sacchi.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has reiterated that there is absolutely no place for racism in football while reacting to a couple of unsavoury incidents this week.

Video footage has emerged of Chelsea fans preventing a black man from boarding a train following their Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain last night.

Earlier this week, former Italy coach former Arrigo Sacchi claimed that the country's youth system features "too many blacks", before denying that he was racist.

Blatter has condemned both episodes and demanded that race-related discrimination stop immediately.

He tweeted on Wednesday: "Pride and dignity is not a question of skin colour. Shocked by Arrigo Sacchi's comments. Stop it. I also condemn the actions of a small group of Chelsea fans in Paris. There is no place for racism in football!"

Chelsea have released a statement describing the behaviour of some of their fans in Paris on Tuesday as "abhorrent".
