Didier Drogba is keen on returning to Chelsea to train ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Shanghai Shenhua striker Didier Drogba has said that he wants to return to Chelsea to train.

The 34-year-old hopes to train with Roberto Di Matteo's side to remain in shape for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in January, as the season in China has come to an end.

"It will first be necessary that I ask permission from Shanghai and Chelsea," The Mirror quotes the Ivory Coast international as saying.

"If everyone agrees, it is possible I will go and train there until the African Cup starts. But that is all it will be."

Drogba joined Shenhua on a free transfer in the summer after his contract with Chelsea came to an end.
