Celtic sign Craig Gordon

Celtic sign former Hearts and Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon on a free transfer.

Former Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has agreed to join Celtic on a two-year deal as a free transfer, with an option of a further year.

Gordon has been without a club since his release from the Black Cats two years ago, and has been working on his fitness since breaking his arm twice while with Sunderland.

"Celtic have signed goalkeeper Craig Gordon on a two-year contract with the club having the option of a third year," the club announced on their website.

"The 31-year-old keeper, who formerly played with Hearts and Sunderland and who has 40 Scotland caps, will immediately jet out to Austria to join Ronny Deila and his new Celtic teammates at their pre-season base."

Celtic take on FK Krasnodar in a friendly on Thursday.
