Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers confirms that the Scottish Premiership champions have ended their interest in signing Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.

Celtic have ended their interest in signing Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.

The Hoops reportedly made a £3.5m move for the 21-year-old on Tuesday but the Dons are believed to have rejected the bid.

Speaking ahead of Thursday's night's Europa League clash against FK Suduva, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the Hoops will not return with an improved offer this summer.

"He's a young player that I like," the Northern Irishman told reporters.

"However, the clubs have spoken and it was made clear Scott won't be for sale or available in this window. So that would end that."

Aberdeen are also reported to have knocked back offers from Hull City and Swansea City over the summer.
