Kris Commons: Scott Brown a "natural leader"

Kris Commons calls Scott Brown a "natural leader" following Celtic's Scottish League Cup final victory over Dundee United.

Kris Commons has praised Celtic captain Scott Brown following their League Cup final victory over Dundee United.

Photos emerged of Brown drunk on an Edinburgh street last week, just days before the final, but the midfielder played the full 90 minutes at Hampden Park.

Commons scored the opener, and James Forrest added a second as Celtic lifted the Scottish League Cup for the first time in six seasons.

"Its' the first time I've got my hands on this trophy in my time at Celtic," Commons told BBC Sport.

"Once that goal went in it settled our nerves and we dominated the game.

"When you've got a captain like Scott [Brown], he's a natural leader and natural winner. He's a big, big character in our dressing room as far as team spirit goes. It's been magic from day one here."

Commons has won three Scottish Premiership titles and two Scottish Cups since joining Celtic in 2011.
