Ronny Deila laughs off Malmo fitness claims

Celtic manager Ronny Deila dismisses claims of poor fitness from Malmo boss Age Hareide after the Champions League playoff first leg.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has laughed off claims from Malmo head coach Age Hareide that his side do not have the stamina to last 90 minutes in the Champions League.

Hareide questioned the fitness of Deila's side after the Bhoys conceded another late goal in Europe to take only a slender 3-2 lead back to Sweden for the second leg.

In 19 European matches under Deila Celtic have now conceded nine goals in the final 15 minutes, but the manager insisted that it is not a question of fitness or lack of concentration.

Deila told reporters: "[Hareide] is a funny guy. Of course everybody was disappointed when we conceded the last goal, but as I can remember we won 3-2.

"That was a result that we are happy with and we have a good opportunity to go through. It seems like they won 3-0, 4-0 when he talks. I cannot see that result."

Celtic face Dundee United away in the Scottish Premiersip tomorrow before travelling to Malmo for the second leg of the Champions League playoff tie on Tuesday night.
