Danny Kearns leaves Carlisle United by mutual consent

Carlisle United have confirmed that midfielder Danny Kearns has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 24-year-old, who has not featured for the League Two club since April, moved to Brunton Park from Peterborough United in summer 2014.

"Danny is a great lad but he's probably one of the players who hasn't had as much opportunity to showcase himself as he would have wanted," Carlisle boss Keith Curle told the club's official website.

"He wants to be playing football and his opportunities were limited here. I think this suits all parties and it goes without saying we wish him well as he moves on from Carlisle United."

Carlisle are in action tonight when they travel to Port Vale in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
