Tommy Smith has revealed that he has been impressed by his former teammate Malky Mackay since joining him at Cardiff City.
Smith played with Mackay at Watford but has revealed that his attitude has changed completely as a coach.
He told Wales Online: "Malky was a jovial player, one of the dressing room jokers as a player, but he's a bit more serious now.
"He is a manager who wants to learn all the time. He is taking things in all the time, any bit of knowledge he feels can be of use.
"I love his enthusiasm and his clearly a manager with a bright future in the game."
Cardiff overcame the Hornets on Tuesday by a single goal to go second in the Championship.
