Sean Dyche signs Burnley extension

Burnley confirm that manager Sean Dyche has signed a "new and improved" contract with the club.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has signed a "new and improved" contract with the club.

The 42-year-old joined the Clarets in 2012 before guiding the team to promotion to the Premier League last season.

While Burnley have not disclosed the length of Dyche's new deal, they are pleased to have tied him and his coaching staff down to fresh terms.

A statement from co-chairmen John Banaszkiewicz and Mike Garlick said: "On the subject of key signings we are very pleased to announce that we have agreed new and improved contracts with Sean Dyche and his staff and we thank them all for their hard work."

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Burnley will host Chelsea in their opening game of the new season.
