Sean Dyche: 'Defeat to Chelsea will not change our approach'

Sean Dyche insists that he has no intention of changing Burnley's approach following the defeat to Chelsea.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has insisted that he will persist with a positive approach despite getting their Premier League campaign off to a disappointing start.

The Clarets returned to the top tier of English football with a 3-1 loss to Chelsea on Monday, but Dyche believes that a defeat to that calibre of opponent should not force a rethink.

"We don't want to play in games and come away just sitting in and camping in and hoping for the best," the Burnley boss told reporters. "We want to try and be productive for ourselves, and try and win games.

"That might change over the season, but that's certainly our thinking early on.

"I don't think it's our marker to see whether out style worked against Chelsea. There is a market that is more realistic to us and that's probably not the top four, five or six."

Burnley meet Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
