Sean Dyche: 'Burnley can't wait for Danny Ings'

Sean Dyche says that Burnley cannot afford to wait for Danny Ings to break his goal drought, encouraging somebody else to adopt the goalscoring burden in the run-in.

Sean Dyche has told his Burnley players that they cannot afford to rely on striker Danny Ings to fire them clear of Premier League relegation in the run-in.

Bottom of the table and five points adrift of safety, the Clarets are heavily expected to drop down back into the Championship, having been promoted last season.

Ings, who has netted nine Premier League goals this season, has not found the net since February and, with four games left, Dyche says that his charges cannot wait for him to break his drought.

"It's not just Danny, the team have to stand up," he told reporters in a press conference. "He's certainly trying. And that's one of the key components, showing that willingness.

"It's not a situation where you can just rely on one player. Of course he has scored goals this season and we know he has got goals in him."
