Sean Dyche: 'We were unlucky against Southampton'

Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes that his side were unfortunate to go down to a 4-3 defeat to Southampton in their FA Cup clash at St Mary's Stadium.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes that his side were unlucky to crash out of the FA Cup following their defeat to Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.

The Clarets trailed 2-0 at the break but hauled the score back to 2-2. However, goals from Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana proved to be enough for the Saints to secure the win, despite a late goal from Kevin Long.

Dyche told the club's official website: "In the first half I just felt we lacked belief, but in the second half we were outstanding and but for a great save at 2-2, who knows?

"At the end of the day it's taken three goals from three England players to win it for them, but a scratch of luck and we could have won that."

Burnley are next in action in the Championship next week when they take on Yeovil Town.
