Darrell Clarke: 'We must not play the occasion'

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke admits that the Conference Premier playoff final against Grimsby Town is one of the biggest games in the club's history.

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke has admitted that his side must not play the "occasion" when they face Grimsby Town in the Conference Premier playoff final.

The league runners-up are favourites to overcome Grimsby at Wembley Stadium after losing just once since October, but Clarke has insisted that they must produce a "business-like" performance in order to see off the Mariners.

The 37-year-old told BBC Points West: "It's probably one of the biggest games in Bristol Rovers' history.

"But it's about playing the game and not the occasion. It's a lovely stadium and a lovely pitch but we're there to do the business."

Rovers recorded a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 victory against Sunday's opponents during the regular league campaign.
