Brighton & Hove Albion 'near £3.5m Davy Propper deal'

Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly close in on the £3.5m capture of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Davy Propper.

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly confident of sealing the signature of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Davy Propper before their Premier League opener against Manchester City next weekend.

The 25-year-old scored 10 times in 43 appearances for PSV during the 2016-17 campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, discussions between Brighton and PSV "are at an advanced stage", and the Seagulls expect Propper to travel to England over the next 48 hours to complete a medical ahead of a £3.5m deal.

The four-time Netherlands international spent six seasons in the Vitesse first team before joining PSV in 2015, and the central midfielder has scored 22 times for the Red and Whites over the last two campaigns.

Brighton have already spent almost £15m in this summer's transfer market, with Mathew Ryan and Markus Suttner among those to have joined the newly-promoted Premier League outfit.
