Brighton goalscorer James Wilson: 'We fought to the end to earn crucial point'

James Wilson says that his 94th-minute equaliser against Derby gives Brighton a "great lift" heading into next weekend's automatic promotion decider against Middlesbrough.

Brighton & Hove Albion's on-loan striker James Wilson has claimed that the team will head into next weekend's crucial Championship match against Middlesbrough full of confidence.

The 20-year-old, who is on loan at Brighton from Manchester United, scored a 94th-minute equaliser against Derby County at The Amex this afternoon.

Brighton, who went down to 10 men after Lewis Dunk was sent off in the second half, will take on Middlesbrough next weekend in a winner-takes-all match for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

"It gives the lads a great lift going into the next game," Wilson told Sky Sports News. "Even after the red card we fought to the end and we got the goal, so hopefully it can propel us into the next game."

Meanwhile, Burnley can secure a position in the top flight with a win over Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.
