Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: 'We were worth a draw against Everton'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that his side were "worth a draw" in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Everton.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has claimed that his team deserved to take home a point against Everton, who ran out 2-1 winners at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Marc Pugh earned a first-half equaliser for the Cherries, two minutes after Tom Cleverley had given Everton the lead.

Despite some late rallying from Bournemouth, they could not respond to Leighton Baines's 64th-minute strike.

"I think we were worth a draw, the two goals we conceded were out of context," BBC Sport quotes Howe as saying.

"We were solid and our keeper was a spectator for most of the game. When chances came we weren't clinical enough."

Bournemouth have not confirmed their Premier League safety yet, but they are nine points above the relegation zone with two games left to play.
