Eddie Howe: 'Defeat is difficult to take'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admits that losing 1-0 at home to Newcastle United is 'difficult to take' after witnessing his team dominate the match.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted his frustration after seeing his side lose 1-0 at home to Newcastle United.

The Magpies had Rob Elliot to thank as a first-half goal from Ayoze Perez proved decisive in a game which Bournemouth created 20 opportunities compared to just two for their opponents.

The 37-year-old told the club's official website: "It's an incredibly difficult one for us to take today.

"I thought we were excellent. For 70 minutes of the game we really were terrific. We dominated the ball and dominated chances, so it's hugely frustrating not to win let alone lose the game."

Bournemouth have now suffered four successive defeats in the top flight.
