Jurgen Klopp: 'Borussia Dortmund fans will stay on our side'

Jurgen Klopp insists that the Borussia Dortmund fans will stick with the team, despite their poor Bundesliga form this season.

Jurgen Klopp and Neven Subotic have both underlined the importance of the Borussia Dortmund's supporters as they look to recapture their best form in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund head into the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday sitting bottom of the table, but Klopp insists that the team's critics will not ruin the relationship between the players and the fans.

"We've got a great chance to show that nobody can drive a wedge between us and the supporters," the Dortmund boss told reporters. "Ideally, we'll put in a performance on Sunday that will put an end to the discussion."

Klopp's sentiments were echoed by defender Subotic, who believes that a negative response from the fans will not have the desired impact.

"When you're walking over a tightrope 50 metres above the ground and everybody is just waiting for you to fall down, that's more difficult than having the support," the Serbian told members of the media. "We need the support. It doesn't help us getting shouted at."

Last season's runners-up Dortmund have lost seven of their 12 league games this season.
