Report: Thierry Henry in talks with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is reportedly in talks with Bordeaux over becoming the Ligue 1 side's next manager.

Thierry Henry is one of a number of candidates in the running to succeed Gus Poyet as Bordeaux manager, according to a report.

The Arsenal legend is to step down as assistant boss of the Belgium national side, having already quit his punditry role with Sky Sports.

A report in France overnight suggested that the 41-year-old has agreed terms to become Bordeaux's new manager, but Sky Sports News claims that talks are still ongoing.

Former Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this week that Henry, who spent close to a decade in North London, is interested in taking over at the Matmut Atlantique.

Bordeaux suspended Poyet last week after he criticised the club's owners for selling striker Gaetan Laborde to rivals Montpellier without his permission.
