Bolton Wanderers close to signing Joe Mason from Cardiff City?

Bolton Wanderers are reportedly in pole position to sign Cardiff City's Joe Mason on loan.

Bolton Wanderers are reportedly close to clinching the signature of Cardiff City striker Joe Mason on loan.

The 22-year-old is said to be a prospect for the future at the Welsh outfit, but manager Malky Mackay is willing to let him leave on a temporary basis to gain experience.

Championship side Bolton are in pole position to land the forward following their failure to sign him in the summer window, according to talkSPORT.

Mason has appeared in the Capital One Cup twice this season, but is yet to feature in the Premier League.
