Bolton Wanderers confirm Shola Ameobi has signed short-term deal

Bolton Wanderers confirm that Shola Ameobi has signed a short-term deal at the Championship club following a recent trial.

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Shola Ameobi has signed a short-term contract at the club following a recent trial.

The former Newcastle United striker has been without a club since being released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season following a five-month spell.

Charlton Athletic reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Ameobi on a free transfer, but their fellow Championship outfit Bolton opted to take on the 34-year-old.

Ameobi, who spent 14 years at Newcastle, will wear the No.26 shirt at the Macron Stadium.
