Dougie Freedman confident Bolton Wanderers can climb Championship table

Dougie Freedman describes Bolton Wanderers' 3-1 win over Millwall as "crucial".

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has described his side's 3-1 win over Millwall as "crucial".

The Trotters climbed to 17th in the Championship after recording their first home victory of the season on Saturday.

Freedman believes that the confidence gained from the result will give his side the belief that they require to continue their rise up the table.

He told reporters: "It's not a relief but I felt that a win was crucial today. It's important to get that first home win but I think that the majority of performances at home have been good recently.

"We've put behind us some bad form at the start of the season which we didn't shy away from because we knew there were areas where we could improve.

"I feel if we can keep our feet on the ground we will start to really pick up points and move up the division."

Bolton are currently fourth in the Championship Form Guide.
