Two strikes from Clint Dempsey has handed Fulham the lead heading into the break away at Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.
The American international thought he had broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when he turned Damien Duff's effort past Adam Bogdan. However, the referee's assistant raised his flag for offside.
However, just seven minutes later Dempsey scored a legitimate goal. The 29-year-old struck from long range and despite the best efforts of Bogdan, the ball found the top corner of the net.
David Ngog had the home side's best chance to level up proceedings, but he shot wide of goal from close range.
As the half went into stoppage time, Dempsey was on hand to head in Duff's cross to double Fulham's advantage and claim his 21st goal of the season.
Fulham had only scored nine goals away from home prior to this fixture.
