Blackpool sign Celtic's John Herron on two-year contract

Blackpool sign Celtic midfielder John Herron on a two-year deal, with the option of a further year.

Blackpool have completed the signing of John Herron from Celtic on a two-year contract.

The 21-year-old midfielder will join the recently-relegated League One outfit on July 1 after spending his entire career so far at Parkhead.

"After I spoke to the manager, it was the only place I wanted to come," Herron told Blackpool's official website. "I had a lot of other options in Scotland and England, including in the Championship, but after hearing the progression the manager wants, for me it was the only place to come.

"I've been at Celtic since I was seven, but it's a different situation here and I'm here to win games. It's a new challenge, I want to progress and help Blackpool, and hopefully Blackpool can help me."

The Scotland Under-21 international has the option to extend his contract by a further year.
