Michael Chopra has confirmed that he will take part in the inaugural season of the Hero Indian Super League.
The 30-year-old will feature in the 'central international player pool' in a player draft to be held on August 21.
"I am delighted to be part of the new Indian Super League," Chopra is quoted as saying by Gulf News.
"It's an exciting time for Indian football and an honour for me to be involved in this new era."
Chopra, who is of Indian origin, has played for Newcastle United, Sunderland, Cardiff City, Ipswich Town, Blackpool and has spent loan spells at Watford, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley.
