Monday's League One predictions including Bolton Wanderers vs. Reading

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Bolton Wanderers vs. Reading.

Blackpool vs. Wycombe (Monday, 3.00pm)

Playoff-chasing Blackpool will be bidding to bounce back from successive defeats when they resume their League One campaign at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Monday afternoon.

The hosts will enter the contest off the back of a 1-0 defeat at second-placed Derby County on Friday, while Wycombe suffered a 3-1 home loss to division leaders Portsmouth last time out.

We say: Blackpool 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers

Rhodes's absence is huge for Blackpool, and it remains to be seen whether the Seasiders can sneak into the top six late in the campaign. This is a huge game for the hosts, and we are expecting it to be tight, but Blackpool should have enough quality to navigate their way to all three points.

Bolton vs. Reading (Monday, 3.00pm)

Bolton Wanderers will be looking to boost their promotion bid when they play host to Reading in Monday's League One contest.

Reading, who currently occupy 17th position, will be looking to claim a third consecutive victory after enjoying successful outings against Cambridge United and Northampton Town.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Reading

Although Bolton have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, they tend to perform well on home turf, and we think they will make full use of home advantage to record a narrow victory in Monday's encounter.

Bristol Rovers vs. Shrewsbury (Monday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Shrewsbury Town will be bidding to put more ground between themselves and the bottom four when they head to Bristol Rovers in League One on Monday afternoon.

The visitors are currently 18th in the table, six points ahead of the relegation zone, while Bristol Rovers are 14th, five points clear of their opponents in this contest.

We say: Bristol Rovers 1-0 Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury have only won one of their last five matches against Bristol Rovers and have been beaten in 11 of their 19 away league matches this season. We are expecting Monday's affair to be tight but believe that Bristol Rovers have enough quality to secure a vital three points on home soil.

Burton Albion vs. Barnsley (Monday, 3.00pm)

Burton Albion will attempt to put an end to their winless streak when they welcome Barnsley to Pirelli Stadium for Monday's League One encounter.

The relegation-threatened hosts will be hoping to boost their survival hopes by ending their eight-game winless run while the visitors are looking to consolidate their spot in the playoff zone.

We say: Burton Albion 1-2 Barnsley

Burton's recent form has been extremely poor, and they have only managed to triumph in six of their 19 home league matches this season. Barnsley are the second-best side on the road and are currently on a three-match winning run away from home.

Cambridge vs. Wigan (Monday, 3.00pm)

Cambridge United will attempt to claim a second straight victory when they play host to Wigan Athletic in Monday's League One encounter.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be hoping to make it three games without a defeat after picking up four points from their last two matches.

We say: Cambridge United 2-1 Wigan Athletic

Although Cambridge are sitting seven places lower than their opponents, they would have taken confidence from Friday's victory.

With their League One status at stake, the U's may also have an extra piece of motivation to claim maximum points, and we think they will do enough to edge out a Wigan side that has lost three of their previous four away games.

Carlisle vs. Lincoln (Monday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Carlisle United will welcome Lincoln City to Brunton Park for Monday's League One contest.

The Cumbrians are propping up the League One table, while the visitors are currently sitting in the final playoff position.

We say: Carlisle United 1-3 Lincoln City

Carlisle would have taken confidence from Friday's away performance, but we think they will struggle to produce another winning display on Monday.

With Lincoln proving to be a tough team to stop, we believe the visitors will have enough firepower to collect all three points at Brunton Park.

Charlton vs. Stevenage (Monday, 3.00pm)

Stevenage will be bidding to get their League One playoff hopes back on track when they head to Charlton Athletic side on Monday afternoon.

The visitors are currently eighth in the table, one point behind sixth-placed Lincoln City, while Charlton occupy 16th position, seven points outside of the relegation zone.

We say: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Stevenage

Charlton are the draw specialists at the moment, while Stevenage have also shared the points in their last two matches in League One. Both teams will believe that they can triumph on Monday, but we are expecting a tight match to end in a low-scoring draw.

Cheltenham vs. Exeter (Monday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Cheltenham Town host Exeter City, who sit nine points clear of the relegation zone ahead of this game, at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The home side are 22nd in League One, but just two points from safety, whilst the visitors are 15th, but a good run of recent form has all but confirmed their survival.

We say: Cheltenham Town 0-1 Exeter City

Both sides have struggled for goals this season, scoring just 32 and 34 respectively, and we expect those problems to continue with a low-scoring affair in this one.

Exeter won 1-0 in the reverse fixture of this clash in September, and we believe this one will end in the same result.

Leyton Orient vs. Peterborough (Monday, 3.00pm)

Two sides who are battling for a spot in the playoffs come together at Brisbane Road on Monday afternoon as Leyton Orient face Peterborough United in League One.

The hosts are in 10th place and currently trail the playoff spots by six points, while the visitors are fourth with a seven-point lead over the chasing pack.

We say: Leyton Orient 1-1 Peterborough United

Both sides have gone through their own struggles ahead of this match and will want to ensure they get at least a point on the board as they aim for a spot in the playoffs.

The reverse fixture of this match earlier in the season saw an evenly-fought 1-1 draw, and we expect this one to end the same way.

Northampton vs. Port Vale (Monday, 3.00pm)

A rejuvenated Port Vale side will have the chance to record a third successive win when they travel to Sixfields for Monday's clash with Northampton Town.

The Cobblers, meanwhile, will be hoping to produce a positive response after falling to a narrow defeat in Friday's clash with Reading.

We say: Northampton Town 0-2 Port Vale

Northampton may be 14 points better off than their opponents, but the momentum is with Port Vale following consecutive victories without conceding.

With the Valiants closing in on safety, we think they will continue their recent form by claiming an away win over a Northampton side that has lost three of their last four games.

Oxford Utd vs. Fleetwood (Monday, 3.00pm)

Two sides operating at opposite ends of League One clash on Monday afternoon when playoff-hunting Oxford United host relegation-threatened Fleetwood Town at The Kassam Stadium.

The home side are seventh in the league, only outside of the playoffs due to an inferior goal difference compared to Lincoln City, while the visitors are 23rd and six points from safety.

We say: Oxford United 2-0 Fleetwood Town

While neither side have been in great form coming into this match, Oxford have picked up almost double the points of Fleetwood this season and are favourites to win this game.

The visitors have won one game away from home since November - with a 2-0 victory against Bristol Rovers in February - while they have failed to win away against Oxford United since 2018.
