Agent: 'Nuno Gomes planning Blackburn Rovers stay'

The brother and agent of Blackburn Rovers striker Nuno Gomes says that he will be with the club next season.

The agent and brother of Nuno Gomes has insisted that the veteran Portuguese striker has no plans to leave Blackburn Rovers this summer.

Having only started one game in the last seven months, numerous reports have linked the 36-year-old with a return to his homeland.

However, Tiago Ribiero has told the Lancashire Telegraph that his sibling intends to stay at Ewood Park next season.

"He has another year on his contract and nothing says to me that he will not continue," said Ribeiro.

"We are waiting for news on the coach but he has a final year on his contract. We will have to see what happens with the coach."

Gomes joined Rovers last summer on a free transfer from Braga.
