Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer hails "biggest achievement" in charge

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer describes the FA Cup fifth-round win over Stoke City as his "biggest achievement" in charge of the club.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has described his side's 4-1 win over Stoke City in the FA Cup fifth round as his "biggest achievement" since becoming boss.

Championship playoff hopefuls Blackburn recovered from going a goal down inside the opening 10 minutes to beat a Stoke side who had Geoff Cameron sent off at the end of the first half.

"For myself and the players I think it is probably our biggest achievement in the time that we have been in charge," Bowyer told the club's official website.

"Full praise to them and full credit to them, they deserve every plaudit going.

"To go behind in the manner that we did was disappointing but the response and resilience to bounce back was tremendous."

Blackburn are six-time winners of the FA Cup, but have not won it since 1928 and not reached the final since 1960.

They will find out their last-eight opponents following the draw on Monday night.
