Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly contacted Amiens midfielder Guessouma Fofana with a view to signing the 24-year-old ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
Fofana joined Amiens from Lyon-Duchere in 2015, and helped the Unicorns earn promotion to Ligue 1 last season.
The Frenchman will be out of contract at the end of the new campaign, however, and a number of clubs have been linked with a move in this summer's transfer window.
According to L'Equipe, Birmingham boss Redknapp has personally contacted Fofana in a bid to convince the midfielder to make the move to St Andrew's.
Birmingham are also believed to be closing in on a move for former England international Stewart Downing, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Middlesbrough.
