A thigh problem forces Leroy Lita to cut short his loan spell with Birmingham City and return to Swansea City for treatment.

Striker Leroy Lita has returned to his parent club Swansea City following a loan spell in the Championship with Birmingham City.

He joined the Blues in September on a temporary deal that was due to run until December.

However, a thigh injury has resulted in the 27-year-old heading back to the Liberty Stadium for treatment.

Lita made 10 appearances during his stint with Birmingham, scoring three goals.

His early departure has left Marlon King, Nikola Zigic and Peter Lovenkrands as the only recognisable centre-forwards at St Andrew's.
