Cardiff City are reportedly working on a deadline-day deal for Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa.
The 24-year-old, described as dynamic and attack-minded, was absent for his side as they beat the Bluebirds in a pre-season friendly at the weekend.
Reports in Spain have suggested that the Spaniard - also linked with Fulham and Huddersfield Town - was missing for his side's training session on Wednesday morning as he instead travelled to the Welsh capital to get the deal done.
City boss Neil Warnock has previously outlined his desire to bring in a central midfielder before the window closes but insisted that he would not "sign anybody for the sake of it".
Cardiff have spent around £28m on signings so far this summer, including winger Josh Murphy, forward Bobby Reid and defender Greg Cunningham.
