Real Betis sack manager Juan Carlos Garrido

Juan Carlos Garrido is sacked as manager of Real Betis following Saturday's heavy defeat to Real Madrid.

Real Betis have sacked manager Juan Carlos Garrido following Saturday's 5-0 loss to Real Madrid.

Garrido only replaced Pepe Mel at the La Liga's bottom-placed club seven weeks ago, although following a run of bad results, Betis have parted company with the Spaniard today.

"Garrido is no longer the coach of Real Betis," a statement on the club's official site read.

Betis travel to Celta Vigo in the league on Friday night, before a home clash against Espanyol the following weekend.
