Schalke general manager Horst Heldt claims that Bayern Munich will not sell Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.

Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has revealed that he enquired about the availability of Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.

However, Heldt confirmed that the European champions were not prepared to discuss a transfer for the 21-year-old.

"I got in touch with Matthias Sammer to ask him about Xherdan Shaqiri's availability. Unfortunately, he made it clear that they do not want to let go of him," Heldt told Bild.

The Swiss international has been widely linked with a move away from Bayern this summer.
