Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has reportedly considered retiring from football after struggling with an ongoing ankle problem.

The former France international featured in just 15 Bundesliga matches last season, and has missed a total of 79 league matches since joining the German side in 2007.

According to L'Equipe, the 32-year-old is considering his future after an interrupted season, although his agent told the publication that the midfielder is desperate to return.

Ribery finished third in the voting for the 2013-14 Ballon d'Or.
