Stefan Effenberg: 'Bayern Munich to offload Dante'

Former Germany international Stefan Effenberg believes that Dante's days with Bayern Munich are numbered and that the Brazilian will be offloaded in the summer.

Former Germany international Stefan Effenberg has insisted that Dante's days at Bayern Munich are numbered and believes that the Brazilian defender will leave the club in the summer.

The 31-year-old was subbed off after 30 minutes of Bayern's 3-1 win over Hannover on Saturday for 'tactical reasons'.

"Dante's time at Bayern will come to an end in the summer," Effenberg said, according to Goal.com.

Dante reveals that he was disappointed by Pep Guardiola's decision to remove him in favour of Robert Lewandowski, but the Brazilian understands the decision.

"I was a little disappointed, but I understand the coach's decision," Dante said.

"Why should he have three centre-backs on the pitch when the opposition has eleven players in their own box? We won today and that is most important."

Dante's current deal at the Bundesliga champions runs out in 2017.
