Bayern Munich sign Juan Bernat

Bayern Munich sign Juan Bernat from Valencia on a five-year deal.

Bayern Munich have signed 21-year-old defender Juan Bernat from Valencia on a five-year deal.

The Spaniard, who came through Los Che's youth system before making his first-team debut in 2011, is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in European football.

A host of European clubs have been linked with his services in recent months, but Bayern, via their official Twitter account, have announced the signing.

Sporting director Matthias Sammer said in a statement: "He is quick, good in the tackle and can get forward."

Bernat is a Spanish Under-21 international.
