Bundesliga title challengers Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have both reportedly shown interest in signing Edson Alvarez this summer.
Alvarez was close to leaving his current club Ajax at the start of the season, but following Antony's move to Manchester United, Ajax refused to let both him and Mohammed Kudus depart.
It was reported that Chelsea were keen on the Mexican midfielder while Thomas Tuchel was at the helm, and the new Bayern manager looks set to be in for him once again.
German outlet Sport1 claims that Alvarez will be allowed to leave this summer for a reduced fee, as a figure of around €35m (£30m) has been touted.
Chelsea are said to no longer be in for Alvarez having signed Enzo Fernandez in January, leaving the two German clubs in pole position to battle for the Ajax man's signature.
With Bayern hoping to sign a striker during the summer, picking up Alvarez for a lower price may suit them perfectly, but with Dortmund at risk of losing Jude Bellingham, that may strengthen their footing in the transfer market.
