Saturday's Bundesliga predictions including Borussia Dortmund vs. Mainz

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Bundesliga fixtures, including Borussia Dortmund vs. Mainz.

Dortmund vs. Mainz (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Borussia Dortmund play host to Mainz 05 at Westfalenstadion on Saturday knowing that a victory will be enough to clinch their first Bundesliga title in 11 years.

BVB lead the way at the summit heading into the final game of the season, sitting two points clear of perennial German top-flight winners Bayern Munich in second place.

We say: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Mainz 05

Mainz came out on top against Bayern at the end of last month and they will hope to end their campaign on a high by claiming maximum points on Saturday, spoiling Dortmund's title party in the process.

However, we cannot see this rampant BVB side being stopped in their tracks, and while there may be some nervy moments during the contest, Terzic's men should do enough to clinch the club's ninth Bundesliga title.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

RB Leipzig vs. Schalke (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Schalke 04 must avoid defeat away to RB Leipzig on Saturday if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation from the Bundesliga.

The hosts, meanwhile, guaranteed Champions League qualification by blowing the title race wide open with a victory against Bayern Munich last weekend.

We say: RB Leipzig 3-1 Schalke 04

Although Leipzig are guaranteed to finish third regardless of their result against Schalke, Rose will still want his players to end their league campaign on a high ahead of taking on Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final next weekend.

Schalke have done well to stay alive heading into the final day of the season given their disastrous form earlier in the campaign, but we expect an instant return to the second tier to be confirmed with a defeat this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Union Berlin vs. Werder Bremen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Seeking to secure Champions League football for the first time in their history, Union Berlin welcome Werder Bremen to Stadion An der Alten Forsterei for their final Bundesliga game of the season.

While the hosts are hoping to end the campaign inside the top four, the visitors are merely playing for pride having already secured their top-flight status for 2023-24.

We say: Union Berlin 3-1 Werder Bremen

Despite their recent wobble in form, Union Berlin will be regarded as favourites to come out on top against a Werder Bremen side who have been struggling to grind out positive results for some time.

Fischer is sure to have a constant eye on Freiburg's result throughout Saturday afternoon, but as long as his side can claim a victory, preferably a convincing one, they should do enough to book their place in next season's Champions League.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

FC Koln vs. Bayern (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Bayern Munich travel to RheinEnergieStadion to face FC Koln on Saturday knowing that securing all three points is a must is they wish to keep their slim hopes of retaining the Bundesliga title alive.

The Bavarian giants' 10-year dominance at the summit of German football is at serious risk of coming to an end as they sit two points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund heading into the final weekend of the season.

We say: FC Koln 1-2 Bayern Munich

While Koln are merely playing for pride, the onus in on Bayern to give all they have got to secure maximum points and hope that Dortmund slip up in their final match to have any chance of clinching an 11th successive title.

Bayern are sure to throw everything at Koln and will be confident of ending the campaign with a ninth consecutive victory at RheinEnergieStadion, but that might not be enough to finish the day at the Bundesliga summit.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Borussia M'bach vs. Augsburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Borussia Monchengladbach's Lars Stindl celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on February 18, 2023© Reuters

Augsburg will travel to Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday afternoon knowing that a victory would secure their position in the Bundesliga for the 2023-24 campaign.

The visitors are currently 14th in the table, only two points clear of 16th-placed Bochum, while Monchengladbach occupy 11th spot, and the hosts do not have anything substantial to play for in the final set of fixtures this season.

We say: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 Augsburg

Augsburg are likely to be relying on results elsewhere when it comes to their Bundesliga status, as we are predicting Monchengladbach to win here. The visitors will be missing a whole host of first-team players, and we are finding it tough to back them to pick up a positive result on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Frankfurt vs. Freiburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Two teams with plenty to fight for on the final matchday of the 2022-23 Bundesliga campaign will lock horns on Saturday afternoon, with Eintracht Frankfurt welcoming Freiburg to Deutsche Bank Park.

Frankfurt are currently eighth in the table, three points behind sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, while Freiburg are fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Union Berlin, who host Werder Bremen on the same afternoon.

We say: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Freiburg

Both sides need to win, but we are finding it difficult to separate them here. A draw would not be enough for Frankfurt to challenge for sixth, but a point may be enough for Freiburg to finish fourth, and it is set to be a fascinating conclusion to the Bundesliga campaign.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Wolfsburg vs. Hertha Berlin (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Wolfsburg head coach Niko Kovac on March 12, 2023© Reuters

Wolfsburg will be aiming to leapfrog Bayer Leverkusen into sixth place and guarantee themselves European football for next season with a positive result against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

Hertha, meanwhile, had their relegation confirmed ahead of the Bundesliga's final matchday after conceding a late equaliser to VfL Bochum last time out.

We say: Wolfsburg 2-0 Hertha Berlin

With Wolfsburg still requiring a positive result to have a chance of finishing sixth, Kovac's side should be ultra professional and determined to end the season on a high in front of their home fans.

Hertha could be demoralised having had their relegation sealed last weekend, and we expect their dismal campaign to come to an end with a defeat on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

VfL Bochum vs. B. Leverkusen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

VfL Bochum will be aiming to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga by gaining a positive result against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, require all three points to be certain of finishing sixth and qualifying for European football next season.

We say: VfL Bochum 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Although Leverkusen will be keen to guarantee themselves European football for next season, Bochum's motivation is clearly much greater heading into this match given that their survival in the Bundesliga is on the line.

Die Unabsteigbaren have been extremely consistent on home soil for the majority of Letsch's time in charge so far, and we can envisage them ensuring that automatic relegation at the very least will not be on the cards by securing a vital victory on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Stuttgart vs. Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Hoffenheim's Ihlas Bebou celebrates scoring their third goal with teammates on March 18, 2023© Reuters

Two teams that can still be relegated from the Bundesliga this season will lock horns on Saturday afternoon, with Stuttgart welcoming Hoffenheim to Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The home side are currently 15th in the table, level on points with 16th-placed Bochum, while Hoffenheim sit 13th, three points ahead of the relegation playoff position.

We say: Stuttgart 1-1 Hoffenheim

Stuttgart need to win more than Hoffenheim, but we are finding it difficult to separate the two teams here. A draw would make it very nervy for Stuttgart, but Hoffenheim were excellent against Union Berlin last time out, and we are struggling to back them to lose on Saturday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
