Karl Heinz-Rummenigge: "Germany won't win the World Cup in 2014"

Karl Heinz-Rummenigge does not think that Germany can become the first European team to win the World Cup in South America when Brazil host the tournament in 2014.

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl Heinz-Rummenigge does not believe that Germany can win the next World Cup.

A European team has never won the World Cup in South America, and Rummenigge believes that trend will continue in 2014.

He told Sport Plus: "I don't have the opinion, that some Bayern players have, that Germany will be world champions in 2014.

"I fear it won't be different this time. A country from South America like Brazil or Argentina will become world champions. They will try to compensate for the loss at the last two World Cups."

Joachim Low's side continue their qualifying campaign for 2014 with a match against neighbours Austria in midweek.
