Wolfsburg's Dieter Hecking: 'Too much respect for Bayern Munich not good'

Dieter Hecking says that he "firmly" believes in Wolfsburg's abilities to win against Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals on Tuesday.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has urged his players not to show too much respect to Bayern Munich when the two sides meet on Tuesday.

The Wolves are in Munich to take on the newly-crowned German champions in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal at the Allianz Arena.

"Respect is always a good thing, and also important, but there shouldn't be too much of it," Wolfsburg's official website quotes the 48-year-old as saying.

"We are making the trip to Munich and firmly believe in the little chance we have. The longer we can frustrate Bayern for, the more opportunities that will come our way."

The other semi-final between Stuttgart and Freiburg will be played on Wednesday.
