How Bayern Munich could line up against Borussia Monchengladbach

Sports Mole looks at how faltering champions Bayern Munich could line up for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena.

It is a rare sight not to see Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table, but that is the situation they find themselves in after six games of the current campaign.

Niko Kovac has seen his side pick up just one point from their last two league games to slip behind Borussia Dortmund, who also have a goal difference twice as good as Bayern's.

A midweek Champions League draw at home to Ajax means that it is now three games without a win in all competitions, and they face another difficult test with the visit of Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Gladbach are just two points and two places behind Bayern in the Bundesliga table, and would climb above the champions if they are able to condemn Bayern to consecutive league defeats - something which has not happened since May 2015.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Bayern could line up for the match.

Out: Rafinha, Kingsley Coman, Corentin Tolisso
Doubtful: None

Kovac named a full-strength side from the players available to him at the weekend, and alterations to that starting lineup are likely to be minimal despite the disappointing result.

Bayern have switched between a few different formations so far this season and could swap out Javi Martinez for James Rodriguez if they choose to go for a more attacking system, although they could be wary of Gladbach's strong start to the season.

Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka will also be pushing for starts ahead of veteran wide men Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, but Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski are expected to keep their places in the team.

Niklas Sule has been a regular in the opening weeks of the season, meanwhile, and so could start ahead of Jerome Boateng, who is still working his way back up to full fitness.
