Bayern Munich head coach Jupp Heynckes has spoken of his pride after watching his side register a 2-0 victory against Villarreal at El Madrigal last night.
Toni Kroos and Rafinha were on target for the German side and the former Real Madrid boss was keen to praise his side’s victory.
"We can all rejoice after this match," said Heynckes, who coached Real Madrid to the 1998 trophy.
"We could of course have wrapped this up earlier. But the Champions League is not the Bundesliga, it is a lot tougher.
"We have a great bunch of players who can be very proud of themselves."
The victory followed a 7-0 win over Freiburg in the Bundesliga last weekend.
