Mike Ford: 'Clinical Bath were outstanding'

Bath head coach Mike Ford urges his group of players to remain relaxed as they prepare to take on Saracens in the Aviva Premiership final.

Bath head coach Mike Ford has described his side's attacking display against Leicester Tigers this evening as "outstanding".

Matt Banahan recorded a hat-trick of tries for Bath as they brushed aside the Tigers 47-10 to reach their first Aviva Premiership final since 2004.

Despite the comprehensive margin of victory, Ford believes that Leicester proved to be stern challengers at the Recreation Ground.

"We were so clinical in the first-half - the attack was outstanding," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "The boys kept their composure, and once the bench came on and we got that fourth try, the game was over.

"I thought Leicester played better than the scoreboard suggested. We would be stupid to change unless it is absolutely a monsoon next Saturday.

"Saracens will know what's coming - they are an excellent kick-chase side. My job with this young side is to keep them pressure-free, make them have fun and enjoy it and go out and do what they do."

Final opponents Saracens edged past Northampton Saints 29-24 in the other semi-final clash.
