Barnsley and Watford shared the spoils at Oakwell as they played out a 1-1 draw this afternoon.
Watford struck the first blow when Marvin Sordell poached a goal from close range after 37 minutes.
The goal came against the run of play but was enough to give Watford the lead at half-time.
However, Barnsley came out strong in the second period and they were level after 57 minutes.
Andy Gray grabbed the crucial goal when he headed home a Jim O'Brien cross.
Watford were forced to hang on for the rest of the match and they were indebted to goalkeeper Scott Loach for keeping the scores level.
The result leaves Barnsley above Watford in 16th place in the Championship, with goal difference separating the two sides.
