Xavi Hernandez: 'Thiago Alcantara should remain at Barcelona'

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez believes that teammate Thiago Alcantara should remain at Camp Nou next season.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez believes that teammate Thiago Alcantara is destined for success at Camp Nou.

Thiago has been linked with a summer move to Manchester United after failing to establish himself in the Catalan club's midfield, but Xavi has insisted that the 22-year-old should remain patient.

The 33-year-old told a press conference: "I'd advise Thiago to stay patient because he's a player who is bound to be a success at Barca.

"I think he is an extraordinary player. Thiago is not just a player for the future, but he is someone who can make an impact right now as well."

The Spanish international made 29 appearances for Barcelona this season.
