Sergi Roberto wants to spend career at Barcelona

Young midfielder Sergi Roberto shrugs off reported Premier League interest in him by insisting that he wants to remain at Barcelona for the rest of his career.

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has rubbished reported Premier League interest in him by insisting that he wants to spend his entire career at the Camp Nou.

The 22-year-old, who has been linked with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, is yet to sign an extension to a contract which expires next summer.

However, the Spanish Under-21 international has stressed that he is not looking to leave Catalonia, neither during this transfer window or at any time in the future.

He told reporters: "Not at any time have I thought about leaving because this is where I want to spend my whole career."

Roberto made only one La Liga start last season, but the appointment of former Barca youth team manager Luis Enrique as first-team coach last month will improve his chances of more regular football.
