Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is reportedly close to joining Barcelona on a five-year deal worth £133,000 a week.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to a report.

The France international is said to be angling for a move out of the Parc des Princes as he is unhappy with his role, having been deployed in a deeper midfield position.

Spanish outlet Sport suggests that Barcelona have agreed to field Rabiot, who has just a year left to run on his existing deal, in his favoured number eight position.

Barca are also said to be willing to pay the 23-year-old £133,000 a week for the next five seasons, helping to see off rumoured competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

Rabiot made headlines earlier this summer when asking to be taken off France's standby list for the World Cup, having missed out on the 23-man squad.
