Lionel Messi is reportedly close to agreeing a new deal with Barcelona that will see him spend two seasons with Inter Miami before he retires.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner's future has been clouded in uncertainty since he tried and failed to force through a Camp Nou exit last summer.
However, a changing of the guard in Catalonia, which includes Joan Laporta taking over as president and Sergio Aguero being added to the squad, has persuaded Messi to stay on.
Spanish outlet Sport claims that Messi has now agreed terms with Barcelona and confirmation is expected to be made soon.
As part of the long-term deal, it is suggested that Messi will spend two more seasons with Barca, before then seeing out the final two seasons of his playing career in Miami.
Messi will then supposedly return to Camp Nou and work in a behind-the-scenes role as a global ambassador for the following six years.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City had previously been considered the favourites to sign the Argentina international.
