Martin Braithwaite planning for long-term Barcelona stay

Martin Braithwaite claims that he will remain at Barcelona for at least four-and-a-half years, despite speculation of an exit in the summer.

Martin Braithwaite has suggested that he plans to remain at Barcelona for the full length of his contract.

Having been signed as an emergency replacement for Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez, it has already been claimed that the winger could be sold during the next transfer window.

However, despite only being regarded as a fringe member of the squad, the Denmark international is keen to see out his deal at Camp Nou.

The 28-year-old told ESPN: "I am sure I am going to stay even more than four and a half years. That's how I see it in my head. Right now I just want to go out and play, enjoy and win titles with this team because that is what I was brought here to do.

"At Barcelona I am looking at all these legendary players that played here, and all the periods where they had some of the best teams, and so one of my goals is to be able to say I played in one of the best Barcelona sides of a generation."

Before the coronavirus pandemic, Braithwaite had made one start and two substitute outings for the Catalan giants.
